Colour created on the loom, without the dye bath

Amphicolor™ uses machine learning to predict how coloured yarns combine through weaving, unlocking thousands of fabric colours from a small base palette.

Solution dyeing significantly reduces the impact of conventional wet dyeing, but limits colour freedom. New shades mean have traditionally required new yarn development, along with high minimums, lead times and inventory.

Amphicolor creates new colour through fabric construction, not chemistry

Using physical colour measurement, machine learning and digital simulation, we predict how pre-coloured yarns combine to create new, solid colours. The weaving principle isn't new. Predicting the colour before you weave it is.

From a few yarns to thousands of colour possibilities

Yarn palettes are digitised to map the fabric colours they can create. The resulting colour space can be explored to discover new colours or match a target shade. For each colour, Amphicolor generates the yarn combination and weaving recipe needed to produce it on existing looms.

Faster colour development. Reduce lab dips and colour-matching rounds, shortening the route to a physical sample.
